Children’s Vision
A new school vision screening service for reception year school entrants was introduced in the county in 2013. The new service uses a computer-generated logMAR based vision testing system. Children who fail the school vision screening service are referred for further assessment either by community optometrists under the scheme managed by Primary Eyecare Services or directly to the hospital eye service depending upon the category of screening failure.
