Dave Adams - Chairman
Born and educated in Leicester. Studied Optometry at UMIST in Manchester. Qualified in 1976. Joined David Kear Opticians in the Forest of Dean in 1981 after working in Afghanistan at the NOOR Eye Institute Trustee of SAO Cambodia involved in Mission and Aid work in Cambodia Married to Jan, with three children.
Susan Arnold - Treasurer
Qualified as a Dispensing Optician in 1994.  She began her career with Dollond & Aitchison in the Midlands area, moving on to independent practice after relocating to Gloucestershire in 2005.  She launched her own practice in Nailsworth (The Optical Shop) in 2006.  She joined the LOC initially as a committee member, and became Treasurer when Steve Guilford stood down after many years of service.  His continued support has been invaluable since she took on the role.  She is keen to ensure that the needs of all those involved in the optical profession within Gloucestershire are considered, as she feels that it is important to have both a commercial and clinical viewpoint represented.
Adrian Street - Secretary
Adrian is Director of Norville Opticians with long experience as a dispensing optician.
Kerry Irvine
Originally from Manchester, I graduated from the University of Bradford in 2005. For a number of years I worked in various practices around England including multiple, independant and domicilary, finally settling in Gloucestershire in 2009 when I became the Optometrist Director at Gloucester Specsavers. I have been involved with the LOC and Three Counties Optometry Society since 2010.  
Nigel Harris
Qualified as an optometrist with Boots in 1989, I have since worked in a variety of locations across the Midlands and have latterly been based in Cheltenham as Practice Manager. I have managed practices of varying sizes since 1992 and combined with this ongoing pre-reg supervision.
Ankur Trivedi
Following qualification in 2002 I have worked in both multiple and independent sector practices across Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire. Since 2005 I have been a junior partner at John Weygang Optometrists. I have an interest in contact lenses and sports vision.
Ian Shapcott
Born and educated in Bristol. Having graduated in Optometry at Cardiff I came to Gloucestershire to complete my training at Cheltenham General Hospital. After qualifying in 1985 I worked for a small group of practices in Cheltenham, managing the Charlton Kings branch until 1998. Since then I have been self-employed, working for several independent practices in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire. I have served previously on the committee of the Three Counties Optometry Society and in 2003 I completed a degree in IT & Information Systems at the University of Gloucestershire.
Alvaro Borges
I was born in Porto (Portugal) and qualified as an Optometrist in 2007 after studying and working in Barcelona. Since then I've worked in different community optometry roles and also as a franchise director. I have a particular interest in glaucoma and children with special educational needs.

I currently work in community optometry with Haine and Smith Opticians and at Great Western Hospital, Swindon in the Glaucoma and paediatric refraction clinics. Previously I have worked at the Western Eye Hospital Glaucoma clinics in London and have done numerous overseas trip with Vision Aid Overseas.
